Whilst Moto2 and MotoGP enjoyed a dry session as well as a wet one today, the 125cc riders had to abandon their slick tyres in both free practices, with the morning hit by a light shower in the final five minutes and the afternoon a complete washout.

Misano provided a treat for spectators at 11am Sunday morning, with one of the best 125cc races of the season so far kicking off in style. It was a group race -for the opening laps.

One of the closest qualifying sesisons of the 125cc season took place this afternoon at Misano, where Bancaja Aspar rider Nico Terol and title rival Marc Marquez had dominated free practice but were challenged by Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaró in qualifying.

For a category so frequently associated with group races, the 125cc Indianapolis race was nothing of the sort. The target of 1'48 laps was also almost out of the agenda, as only Nico Terol and Marc Márquez were able to put a pair of these on the board.

Blue skies and 29ºC temperatures welcomed the 125cc World Championship to Indianapolis, which saw some surprises at the top of the timesheets in the opening free practice.
