Superprestigio - Second Edition
Posted on Dec 10, 2014 by George Penny
Bradley returns to Barcelona for the second edition of the Superprestigio Dirt Track event on the 13th December.
The event, held at the Palau Sant Jordi indoor sporting arena which is situated on Barcelona’s Montjuic – the hill itself having been the scene of World Championship motorcycle races on eight occasions between 1951 and 1972 – will feature all three of the 2014 MotoGP™ World Championship title winners and other riders past and present from other disciplines including World Superbikes. Other british riders taking part will include Scott Reading, Christian Iddon, and Guy Martin.
The race takes place on an oval track, completely flat using supermotard type motorcycles with 4-stroke engines, slick tires and no front brake, which guarantees the performance of 'the skid', characteristic of the dirt track .
Marc Marquez, Tito Rabat, Alex Marquez, Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, Nicky Hayden and many top GP riders consider Dirt Track as a key element in their training routine.
Following practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday morning, the riders will be challenged with further qualifying heats and numerous races in the afternoon including four Finals for the Superprestigio machines, culminating with the Superprestigio + Open Super Final.
There will be a stream online via the official website at www.dtxbarcelona.com and you can watch via your television if you’re a BT Sport customer. The evening’s event will be shown Live on ‘BT Sport Extra’ which is accessible via the red button from 6:30pm
