Smith aiming for strong finish in Valencia
Tech 3 Racing Team rider Bradley Smith will be hoping to end the 2012 Moto2 World Championship campaign with a top 15 finish at the Ricardo Tormo track in Valencia tomorrow. Smith's final appearance in the ultra-competitive Moto2 class promises to be a challenging one after his qualifying session didn't going according to plan. The British rider set the 22nd best time with a personal best of 1.36.771 after he was unable to find a comfortable set-up with his Mistral 610 machine.
Bradley Smith 22nd 1.36.771 – 20 laps: “I certainly didn't anticipate starting my last race in Moto2 from such a lowly place on the grid and it is very disappointing. We tried to improve the bike from this morning's session but it looks like we went in the wrong direction because 22nd is a bad position and in fact my worst of the season. I'm not sure what happened in qualifying but I just didn't have a good feeling with the bike and we have a lot of work to do tonight. There aren't a lot of overtaking opportunities at this track so it could be a very tough race for me. My target for my last race in Moto2 will be to get into the points but I wanted to bow out with a strong top 10 result. We'll see what happens but I will be giving it my all before my new adventure in MotoGP starts next week.”
