Bradley and his Tech 3 team have overcome a difficult start to the year to face the second half of the Moto2™ season with real confidence. The fourth place in the TIM Grand Prix in Mugello on Sunday gave a real indication of the big strides they have made and just why they approach the second half of the 17 round championship with renewed confidence.
“Both myself and the Tech 3 team have taken all the criticism on the chin that has come our way during the first part of the season but at Mugello on Sunday we answered back in the only way we know how. We showed just why we face the second half of the season with some real confidence,” explained Bradley.
“It was not just finishing fourth but the fact I could run with the top guys for the first time this season which made me so proud. Not many riders and teams recover from a bad start to the season but we as a team and the people around me and especially you sponsors have never lost faith and we are ready to really mount a challenge to the front runners when we start again at Indianapolis in August.”
The season started to turn in the home grand prix at Silverstone where Bradley led in the early stages. He eventually finished seventh which he followed up with a sixth in the Dutch TT in Assen. Eight days later he was seventh in Germany and then the moral boosting fourth at Mugello where he was so close to a podium finish.
“It’s certainly been a year of character building for us all but we have never doubted our ability to get back up there. In some way the summer break has come at the wrong time but we will be more than ready by the time we race in the next round at Indianapolis in America on August 19. I can’t thank you enough for your support especially when the going has been tough. It means so much to me and the team and I can assure you we will put everything into thanking you with some top results in the second half of the season.”
There are eight rounds of the Moto2 Championship remaining starting at Indianapolis. Bradley is seventh in the Moto2 World Championship after nine rounds but only six points behind Mika Kallio in sixth place.
